During the early 1980s, viewing Michael Jackson's "Thriller" on videotape was a popular activity for young people in Mopti. This Dogon man asked to be photographed while imitating a dance step from that video. The t-shirt he wears was common in those days and could regularly be found at Mopti's central market.
